Outreach

Acts 2:46-47

46 And every day they devoted themselves [to meeting] together in the temple complex, and broke bread from house to house. They ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And every day the Lord added to them those who were being saved.

Jesus clearly tells us in Acts 1:8 that we will be his witnesses. When the believers met in the Jewish temple, they would tell the Jews about Christ, and many would believe and become Christians. it is a wonderful feeling to share Christ with someone who believes and is accepted into the family of God. Our response to the gospel takes us beyond the walls of the sanctuary. We come together corporately to be equipped for outreach, helping others who have not believed, the unchurched, and underserved communities. The signs and wonders that the Apostles did were usually healing and helping those unable to help themselves. Matthew 25:40 says if you do this to the least of these, you do it unto me.

Outreach is another one of the seven essential elements with great eternal rewards. We are saved to serve. We share the gospel to remove as many people as possible from the hell line to the heaven line. Sometimes a person responds quickly to the gospel message. At other times you may be the one that plants the gospel seed that someone else’s waters.
